Description
The Vintage Leatherman Crunch is a solid multitool with strong grip pliers. It is no bigger than a regular multi-tool. It won’t let go, even when you let the Crunch go! The Crunch has no problem with bolts and nuts, which makes it suitable for the heavier work. In addition, the Crunch has pliers that open to more than 25 mm and a 1/4″ screw bit adapter is built into one of the handles.
This was the first multitool with integral locking pliers, which effectively work like molegrips, allowing you to clamp up to a 1 in (25mm) diameter pipe, or nut. Prefferred by the Sailing community and became popular for Yachting and boating.
It takes a while for the function to become natural but once mastered, you can fold and unfold it with one hand. The adjustment screw on the plier jaws has a good feel too.
It comes with a very sharp ropecutter blade, two flathead and a Phillips screwriver, file, wirestripper and a useful lanyard loop.
The rounded handles feel good in the hand too, and you can exert a lot of pressure without them cutting in. Useful for the foredeck or anyone working aloft.
In the grip plier you will find some other tools, such as a wire cutter and wire stripper. However, there are more tools in the handle.
