Description
The Karesuando Boar knife & Fire Striker is a well-crafted tool designed for durability and aesthetic appeal. The blade, made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, offers excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. Hardened to an HRC of 57, the blade handles rigorous tasks while maintaining sharpness. The flat Scandinavian grind is ideal for carving and slicing, balancing sharpness and strength.
The blade’s internal tang runs about 2.5 inches into the handle, ensuring a secure attachment. Curly birch, known for its beautiful grain patterns, forms the handle. The oiled and stained wood has a golden red/brown hue that enhances the knife’s look. Reindeer antler and a brass bolster add functionality and elegance. The “spine” of the blade has slightly sharpened edges to make it suitable for use when striking a fire striker steel.
The sheath is made from cowhide leather and has a belt loop on the back for easy carry. It also features a loop for the fire striker steel.
The fire striker steel is and “army” size (9.5mm in diameter) ferrocerium stick with a reindeer antler handle.
