J. E. Middleton and Sons Bowie Knife with Dark Stag Antler Handle

This is an impressive, Large Bowie Knife. Made by J.E. Middleton & Sons in Sheffield.

The blade has deep cheeks and a false edge to the tip. The Ricasso is stamped J.E. Middleton & Sons, Rockingham Street, Sheffield’. The dark stag handle is beautifully figured for a full hand grip mounted brass hand guard and it is complete with its hand crafted brown leather sheath. The pommel is hand made beautifully to fit the shape of the stag handle.The scabbard has a single belt loop impressed ‘RM’ on the back . All stitching & leather of the scabbard are intact.

This is a Pre-owned knife from a private collection. The condition is good and the blade does not show any signs of having been sharpened, which is unuasual for the age of this knife. The leather sheath has a few marks commensurate with age and having been stored/boxed and is in excellent condition.
