Description
CRKT Fixed Falcon with Carry System Sheath & Chain – 2242
Adapted From CRKT Web Site Archive.
Based on a custom design by Pat and Wes Crawford, this is a very usable compact work knife, with a sheath for neck or belt carry.
CRKT’s production collaboration with Pat and Wes Crawford, is the most utilitarian of small fixed blades CRKT has ever built.
A very affordable knife that offers a comfortable grip, a wide blade that will hold an edge, and excellent balance. That makes it a perfect toolbox and workshop utility knife, in addition to being a lightweight personal carry for outdoor activity and hunting.
The full tang blade is AUS 6M stainless steel in a satin finish. Blade shape is a modified part serrated drop point with a false edge typical of the Crawford style. The injection moulded black Zytel scales are textured for grip. Zytel is noted for its ability to resist the oils and solvents found in every working environment. The Fixed Falcon locks firmly in the sheath, allowing secure inverted carry. It’s a small knife, with big value.
The Zytel sheath features a Snap-On J-clip, which gives secure in-trouser carry by reaching over the waistband and under the belt. The clip can be reversed for left- or right-hand use. Remove the J-clip and you have a handy neck knife, complete with a black chain. Skeletonizing not only saves weight, but the holes further improve the ability to grip the Fixed Falcon.
The secret to this knife’s usefulness is in its handle shape. It is thinnest at the balance point, resulting in a comfortable finger choil and thumb ramp that allow you to manoeuvre the knife with thumb and forefinger. There is a swell to fit the palm, and a subtle butt pommel. Most important, the handle is long enough to fill the average hand. A hole at the pommel allows attachment of a thong or lanyard.
