Description
Finnish made Survival Knife. The blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless “”surgical”” steel (HRC 57) sharpened with a flat Scandinavian grind. This blade holds an excellent edge and extends with an internal tang that stretches approx 2.5″” into the handle and is secured very firmly so that it won’t come loose. It has a special sharp notch towards the top of the blade which is used to scratch against the firesteel to create sparks that can ignite tinder, paper, small shavings of wood or bark. The handle is made from a combination of Curly Birch, thin layers of Leather and Reindeer Antler. The sheath is made from wet-formed vegetable tanned leather – It has an additional pocket to accomodate the firesteel. It is attached to a reindeer leather belt hanger. The firesteel will last for several thousand strikes. It extends about 6cm (2.3 inches) from the end of its handle. The handle is made from curly birch and reindeer antler and has a small leather string looped through a hole in the handle.
